Personal Deliverance is a choice and also a reality in Jesus Christ. Everyone who is born of God, who has confessed and accepted Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior is entitled to deliverance, is entitled to be free from the bond of the devil, to be free from the Dominion of sin,
the grip of death and Hell, the strongholds of darkness and the wickedness of the wicked.
When the first man (Adam) fell in the garden of Eden thousands of years ago, from that point every man became a candidate of deliverance because the fall of man brought enemity between Him and God and anyone who is not right with God is a slave to the devil which makes the issue of Personal Deliverance non-negotiable, at least for those who have decided to live an
overcomers live, those who have decided to live as a champion, as an Eagle, the mountain-top life.
The Bible makes us understand that there are four types of deliverance, which are: deliverance from sin as we can see in Colossians 9:27, deliverance from the flesh in 1 Corinthians 9:27,
deliverance from troubles according to Job 5:19, and deliverance from demons in Matthew 8:16.
All of these are pointers that there are forces under which the devil can hold people in bondage and control them. Beloved, the truth is that people commit sin not because they want to but because they are under the bondage of sin and inquity, the bondage of death and hell which were activated because of the fall of man in Eden.
Glory be to God through Jesus Christ who came to redeem us from the curse of the law, who has translated us out of darkness into His own kingdom, the kingdom of light, Holiness,separation from iniquity and the kingdom of power.
Dear friend, it is a wicked world that we live in and to be powerless is a risk. This is why you must know God by yourself, you must engage in personal deliverance. Gone are the days of powerless living and sugar-coated sermons that are deployed to pamper and make christians permanent babies in the School of spiritual immaturity.
One of my favorite Dr. D.K. Olukoya’s
quote is this – “If the enemy has stolen anything from you, recovery is by force.” Hence the need for personal deliverance.
The enemies we are dealing with are merciless and wickedly wicked, so it is foolishness to have an untutored courage in the face of educated bullets, it will only make you a casualty at the battle ground.
Personal Deliverance means knowing God by yourself, it means to personally decide to be a student in the School of Holiness, it means to be radical about spiritual growth, it means to be determined through the Holy Spirit’s help to make heaven at last, it means to live a life that
please God, it means to grow daily in the Lord, it means to be enrolled into the department of Meditation on God’s word and prayer, it means to be a Champion for God.
The flesh is a major hindrance to personal deliverance, it is a force of bondage that will never allow for holy living, godliness, seriousness in life. It is the flesh that makes room for worldliness and lawlessness, promiscuity, alcoholism, and all manners of sin and iniquity. So, to engage in personal deliverance, you must overcome the flesh through the word of God, prayer and Self discipline.
You may say “but I go to church, there are several prayer meetings I attend and I’m even a member of the prayer group in my church, so why do I need personal deliverance?” all those things are fine and beautiful but have you asked yourself that what if something bad happens to know you in the middle of the night that needed urgent attention and no one to call. For example you had a scary dream that started to have immediate effect when you woke up or you ate in the dream and you woke up with a stomach upset, or you received a bullet in your dream andyou found the spot of the bullet on your body with serious pain on waking up and many others
like that, situations like these require personal Deliverance.
Personal Deliverance is the ability to exercise your kingdom right as a believer to set yourself free from evil attacks and control. When you understand personal deliverance, you will keep yourself from being demonised; you will keep yourself healthy physically and spiritually and free from demonic pollution. For personal deliverance to be effective, a great deal of self-discipline is necessary.
To carry out personal deliverance, make sure you have a relationship with the Lord, He is the one who borne your griefs, he took your iniquities upon himself and gave you Power to be children of God, repent from every known since, make sure you do not have any evil habit in your life, carry out personal deliverance prayers with faith that God shall deliver you and you
shall testify in Jesus mighty name.
