Our text is taken from the book of Matthew 19:26.
We continue where we left off last week. Unfortunately, and this is deeply saddening, our current generation of Christians is the most powerless in the history of Christianity. Our powerlessness is almost legendary.
Therefore, more than at any other time, we need the power of God in our lives. We need to speak supernatural words. We need to confuse diviners and sorcerers. We need to speak with authority and with power.
===> I am praying for somebody here, every arrow of spiritual powerlessness fired into your life, let the arrows go back to the senders in the name of Jesus! (A 21 fold Amen).
The Lord said unto me “Son, I am looking for men and women who will demonstrate the power of God in this generation.” There is too much powerlessness and too much lack of focus. Some come to church, they do not focus. Some come, they do not really know what they are looking for. Some convert themselves to busybodies. They do not know why they are in church. They do not understand and so their lives do not change, because their focus is different from what God wants them to have. We need to astound and surprise men the way Paul surprised that ruler he was speaking to, and whom Bar-Jesus was disturbing.
Paul was preaching to the man and this demonic man called Bar-Jesus was contesting with Paul. The Bible said Paul looked at him and called him his correct name. He said “thou child of the devil”. So there are people that are children of the devil.
“Thou enemy of righteousness, will thou not cease to pervert the righteous way of the Lord? Behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind.” Thank God Paul said, “for a season”. That was temporary blindness for him. The Bible said, “immediately, mist and darkness fell upon him and he began to look for somebody to lead him by the hand”. After that demonstration of the supernatural, it did not take long to preach to this man anymore. He was astounded.
===> I am praying for somebody here, may you not leave this place the same way you came. May those powers boasting against you mocking you, may you convert them to your slaves in the name of Jesus.
===> May all the powers that have been attacking you because of powerlessness begin to experience a new you as from tonight! And I decree upon you that as from tonight, the power that cannot be insulted, cannot be reproached, receive it in the name of Jesus! (A 7 fold amen).
Christianity is power. I want to pray a prayer. If your Amen can be volcanic, it shall be so unto you.
===> Every confidence of your enemies is broken tonight in the name of Jesus!
Beloveth, do not deceive yourself. Darkness has power. We do not teach people that darkness is powerless. If darkness has no power, those magicians who came to confront Moses, from where did they get their own power to convert sticks to snakes? They have powers.
But there is a greater power. Jesus said, “Behold I give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over every power of the enemy”. Jesus admitted that they have power, and you are saying they have no power. There are men and women who have swallowed their altars. They do not need to carry shrines about. Their bodies are the covens and altars.
===> May your enemies be put to shame in the name of Jesus!
===> The power to shame and terrorize your enemies, let that power come upon you in the name of Jesus.
===> Any power that has constituted a terror to you, they shall flee in the name of Jesus.
I am praying that there will be somebody here this evening who will say “Father, register my name in the school of power. Mark me present in that register. I do not want to come to church and just be playing games. I do not just want to come to church and be roaming around. I want to make an impact in my generation”. Shout this loud and clear:
===> Power of God, I am available, overshadow my life in the name of Jesus.
You must demonstrate the power of God, the kind of power that will put your enemies to shame. What I am trying to explain to you is very simple.
Christianity is a supernatural religion. It is a religion of power. If it is becoming powerless, it is because of us. We need to connect to that supernatural power of God. You can acquire power by becoming a general in the army. But one day, you will be retired, and the power is gone. You can acquire power by becoming a king; that is acquiring power by inheritance but one day, they may remove you from being a king. Kings have been deposed before. You lose the power. You may acquire power by being voted into power by the people. But the same people who voted you in can vote you out, and you lose the power.
You can acquire power by being a dictator, but the same people you are dictating to, can one day gather together against you and remove the dictator. These are the powers of men. But the ultimate power is the power of God. In the power of God, you are not voted into power, so nobody can vote you out. More than at any other time beloved, we all need to connect to the supernatural power. It is an urgent cry. If many more believers have blinded kidnappers and ritual killers, they would have stopped.
