“So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.” Acts 12:5
The early church earnestly prayed for Peter to be freed from prison, and sooner than later the Lord set his beloved son free from his predicament. Like early followers of Jesus, is earnest prayer your default in times of need? Is prayer the primary focus in your decision-making process? Do you rest in the realization that He can be trusted to reveal the way you should go? Do you realize that His truth—though at times counterintuitive—saves you time in the long run? What the Lord is saying may not make sense now, but later, as you look back, it will become clearer.
Sometimes we might not fully to come to the understanding of God’s plan for our lives but prayer is the pathway to the heart of God which can make God himself reveal a lot of mysteries about our lives to us. There is really a lot a praying Christian can get from the throne of God so far his or her primary function in the place of prayer is aligned to the will of the father.
Prayer saves time, saves lives and preserve destinies. One powerful truth many Christians do not know is that in consistent prayers lies great power. It is more than important as a child of God to build a fervent prayer life because in a fervent prayer life lies the weapons and the strength to stay ahead and victorious in the things of the spirit. We must stay committed and dedicated to prayers if we want to see God move in every situation, challenges and daily difficulties of life.
It is not a cop-out to first pray before you commit; instead, it is a wise filter for decision-making. Our Lord Jesus smiles when His children take the time to save time by waiting on His understanding in prayer. The prayer-less, crazy cycle of overreacting in fear and anger only prolongs the pain, while patient prayer applies heaven’s healing process.
Say this prayer:
Dear Lord, teach me to pray and to trust You with the process. Help me create a culture of prayer in my life, my family, and my work. I trust You that prayer is my best investment of time and that it saves me time in the long run. I pray for my worry to be replaced by Your peace and my fear by Your love in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
